Custom Fabricating & Repair, Inc. (CFR) is offering another great opportunity to join our family! We are currently seeking motivated, safety minded individuals for our Seamer Operator shop position.

Overview: As a seamer operator, it is important to have a positive attitude and an eagerness to learn. You will be required to read and understand job specifications, shop drawings and blueprints. In this position, you will be reviewing job/production orders and interpreting any accompanying prints/drawings to determine job requirements. This also includes checking for accuracy of information and identify any discrepancies. As an operator, you are responsible for everyday maintenance- keeping the equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety. It is necessary that you are able to read measuring devices (Tape Measures, etc.), add, subtract, multiply, and divide inches, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals- as these skills will be applied every day. TIG welding is a desirable skill set for this position. Being comfortable operating hand tools such as grinders, cutting wheels, drills, etc. is a must. It is important to be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form. If not already certified, you will need to acquire ASME certification for manual and semiautomatic welding as needed. Using a shear or cutting wheel, you will be expected to accurately cut, shear and trim stainless to length as called for on the blueprint. Seamer operators also weld sheet and plate steel together using a semiautomatic tig and plasma/tig seam welder or manual tig processes. You will also be required to operate various plate rolls to roll the following but not limited to shells, cones, troughs, rings, ductwork and tubing to blue print dimensions. Multi-tasking is a must in this fast-paced area of production.
