Overview:
As a Laser Welder Operator, you will be operating a laser welding machine to join metal materials with high heat and precision. For this position, it is preferred that you have previous experience on a laser welder. You will need to set up, program, and monitor the laser system while running to ensure strong, clean welds, producing product that exceeds internal/external customer’s expectations for quality, cost and delivery. You will be interpreting technical blueprints, prepping the surface of both the top and base material, removing the protective paper, paint, grease, adhesive, etc. before being processed. Once processed, the jacket will need to be quality checked and transferred to the next area in production. We do expect applicants to have some training with the heavy equipment, grinding tools, cranes, and power tools that you use during this process.
It is important that you come to work with a positive attitude and eagerness to learn. It is also important that you show up and are on time for your shift every day, aside from any previously scheduled vacation/personal time. You will need to follow a production schedule which will be provided by the plant supervisor each week. You will need to use common sense and adapt to your surroundings when handling larger vs smaller sheets of stainless. You must adhere to all safety protocols when handling material and while running the laser welder. You will also be responsible for cleaning your work area daily and conducting preventative maintenance. Previous experience operating a forklift is a plus.
